Andrew uses film as a celebration of life and a weapon against injustice.
His documentary Figure Father (2012) grappled with the emotional challenges of reentry from prison, while his quirky comedic portrait documentary Eleanor Ambos Interiors (2013) flipped ageism and gender stereotypes on their head. Andrew also shot and codirected They Came at Night (2013), where he combined stylized fiction filmmaking with concrete social advocacy strategy for communities devastated by war in Central Africa. His first three shorts screened at more than a dozen film festivals, including DOC NYC, SXSW, Heartland FF, Big Sky FF, Vancouver FF, Milwaukee FF, Woodstock and many more.
Starting in January 2014, Andrew worked for two years as Director of Photography at production company MediaStorm, where he shot many award winning shorts, including The War Comes Home, The Last Move, and Life After Water, which he also directed. Fight Hate With Love (2016), his first feature length film, is produced by MediaStorm.
Andrew also teaches cinematography at New York University, and has created a film education program for an NGO in Southern California that works with undocumented immigrants.
