The minimum Island, El Niño, Wild tales and the animated film Mort and Phil with Jimmy’s Randy are the favorites films at the 29th edition of the Spanish Academy Awards.
The sixth work of Alberto Rodriguez opts to 17 trophies, one more than the fifth film by Daniel Monzón. Both The Minimum Island and El Niño are listed in the categories of Best Film, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay awards to those that also aspire Magical Girl, by Carlos Vermut (seven nominations), and Wild tales, by Damien Szifrón.
In the category of Best film of the year is also nominated Loreak, which has two chances to win a Goya in what will be the 29th edition of the awards, that will be presented on February 7 in Madrid.
The list of preferred films by the academics is completed with Eight Basque surnames -five nominations-, Autómata -four options-, 10,000 Km, Musarañas and Paco de Lucía: the search-each one aspires to three prizes-.
Regarding the nominees for the Goya for Best Animated Feature, they are: Dixie and the zombie rebellion, Troop rag in the jungle of the rainbow and Mort and Phil with Jimmy’s Randy.
To Best Documentary Feature Film the films competing are: 2014. Born in Gaza, Building Spain, The last farewell to Bette Davis and Paco de Lucia: the search.
Last but not least, the shorts nominated in the category of fiction are: Safari, Coffee to go, Crossbox killer, A future together and Preferential treatment.
In the category of Documentary short films: The fish tamer, The last embrace, The Russians machine and Walls.
And for Best Animated Short film, are competing A Life Story, A lonely Sun Story, The man with the never-ending coat, Juan and the cloud and Unicorn blood.
