“Everything I know with certainty about morality and the obligations of men, I owe to football.” With these words from Albert Camus begins Captains, a short film directed by Fede Pozzi and Ivan Stoessel that humorously talks about what is much more than the national sport for Argentines: football, possibly what arouses the most passions in the country.
And thus is the character in Captains. Hilario is a football fan that prays for success in the final match and breaks down when he finds that his companion Martin got injured just before the start of the match. He must then find the right words for Hilario’s substitute to successfully replace his companion. Once motivated, the substitute Facundo goes out onto the field.
The film got the special jury mention at the INCAA Football and other Argentine passions competition.
