The two big surprises in the announcement of the Oscar nominees for Best Animated Feature on Thursday were, first, the absence of The Lego Movie, one of the favorite films, and secondly the nomination of Song of the sea and The Tale of Princess Kaguya, of unquestionable quality, but far from the mainstream canons of the Academy.
